Not really sure why I went to see this. Perhaps because Halloween is coming soon and it’s my fave time of year. I like to think I went so I could try out the new recliner seats at the AMC Desert Ridge Marketplace but there was also something inside my head that made me think there might be something of value in the movie. I did enjoy the original Blair Witch Project after all and how it added a new twist to the horror genre with the shaky cam action.
Unfortunately this sequel was a complete sack of shid like I knew it would be. Annoying and pointless. I felt like I was watching Jurrasic Park at times with the huge thumping noises in the woods. They tried to scare the audience with some basic flash and bang tricks but it didn’t work on me. They showed a glimpse of The Blair Witch, Elly, she looks like an alien to me, all skinny and what not. At least the seats were comfortable and you can reserve the ones you want online. FML as far as the movie goes.
I don’t know WTF AMC was thinking with the new setup to get food. It’s confusing and look like a hospital cafeteria. They had bags of popcorn sitting under a heatlamp and I had to ask 2 people what to do. Apparently you are supposed to know that you are to pick up a semi warm bag of popcorn then go take it to another section behind you to pay. At least they sell overpriced alcohol I guess? It’s times like this that a water bottle full of magic are a godsend.
I give Blair Witch 2016 1 star out of 5.
